Jazz
Ambience are pleased to announce to 2008 House Concert Tour! House
Concerts are very popular and successful in the USA and are an
alternative to the usual gig experience because the musicians perform
in the home of the host who invites their family and friends. House
concerts are an intimate and exciting experience; you get to see the
musicians close up and interact with them in ways that are not
possible in a traditional venue. And you dont need a special
occasion to hold a house concert; if you have a love of live music
and want to entertain your friends for an evening this is something
you will all remember for a long time to come!
The
Jazz Ambience house concerts offer two alternative formats:
-
The
Jazz Melting Pot
is an eclectic selection of jazz styles from over 6 decades in one
evening! Jazz Ambience will take you on a roller-coaster journey of
jazz through the ages performing popular jazz music taking in
hot-30s, Glen Miller big-band, be-bop, bossa & samba latin
styles, pop and jazz-funk. The music is interspersed with brief
narratives from the band.
-
The
Live Jazz Juke Box
is an opportunity for the host and guests to choose the entire
repertoire for the evening! We provide you and your guests with a
huge list of jazz classics so you can choose music in advance or
select songs during the performance as the mood takes you!
Many
hosts ask their guests to make a contribution towards the cost of
the evenings entertainment and with typical audiences of 20-30
people the cost per head is less than a theatre ticket or a meal in a
good restaurant. Some hosts also suggest guests bring drink and
finger food to share during the evening. The performances are split
into two 1 hour sets with a 30 minute break in between. During the
breaks you are welcome to talk with the musicians, ask questions and
take pictures. Just look at what others have said:
